To create a website is one thing, but to create an efficient & successful website is another. What do I mean by successful? Well, the reason you have a website is so people can see it. This is where SEO comes in. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. An example of a search engine would be Google. You use search engines all of the time & so do many others! But why is SEO important? This is what helps people find your website. When using Google you type in what you're looking for. Google will then search through different websites for the words you typed in the search bar. Soon after, results will pop up of what best fits your description. So, by using SEO you can use certain keywords that best fit your company. For example: if you sold cakes for a living, you would choose cake, wedding, & birthday as your keywords. These words will be used often throughout your web pages so that your website will be easily found through search engines.
